PUSKAPIK.COM, Pekalongan – Demi mencegah penyebaran virus corona (Covid-19), Pemerintah Kota Pekalongan terus gencar mengkampanyekan kewajiban pemakaian masker, jika hendak keluar rumah. Seruan tersebut disampaikan Walikota Pekalongan,HM Saelany Machfudz,SE didampingi Kasatpol PP Kota Pekalongan, Dr Sri Budi Santoso, jajaran TNI/Polri saat monitoring secara mobile pemberlakuan jam malam di Kota Pekalongan, Selasa malam 7 April 2020.
Walikota Pekalongan tidak henti-hentinya mengingatkan warganya untuk menyadari akan bahaya Covid-19 yang telah menjadi pandemik tersebut. “Masyarakat perlu disadarkan terus-menerus, mereka belum begitu memahami, belum begitu aware apa yang terjadi mengenai wabah Covid-19,” ucap Saelany.
Menurut Saelany, pemberlakuan jam malam di Kota Pekalongan sejak 1 April lalu, bukan untuk menakut-nakuti, melainkan memberikan pemahaman dan kesadaran masyarakat Kota Pekalongan bersatu melawan Covid-19.
Selain memberikan peringatan kepada masyarakat saat berkeliling monitoring jam malam untuk tidak berkerumun dan menerapkan social distancing, Saelany juga membagikan masker kepada masyarakat yang ditemui.
Di Kota Pekalongan ODP sebanyak 122 orang, PDP 3 orang. “Jika kasus virus Covid-19 ini terus meningkat betapa kewalahannya kita nanti karena 1 orang terpapar saja bisa menghabiskan Rp 1 Milliar untuk biaya sarana dan prasarana serta perawatan. Maka dari itu, mari bersama-sama lakukan pencegahan yang sudah ditetapkan pemerintah termasuk untuk wajib menggunakan masker bagi siapapun yang hendak keluar rumah sesuai anjuran WHO,” pungkas Saelany.
