5 Tahun Lagi Sampah Warga Pemalang 500 Ton Per Hari, Tak Tertampung di TPA

PUSKAPIK.COM, Pemalang-Kepala Dinas Lingkungan Hidup Pemalang, Mohamad Sodik memperkirakan pengelolaan sampah di Tempat Pembuangan Akhir (TPA) Pesalakan, Desa Pegongsoran Kabupaten Pemalang hanya sampai untuk 5 tahun ke depan.

“Jika dilihat dari data setiap warga Pemalang dalam sehari menghasilkan 4 ons sampah. Jika dihitung secara keseluruhan dengan jumlah penduduk 1,3 juta maka ketemu 500 ton sampah per hari, ” ujarnya Kamis, 7 Januari 2021.

Mengatasi hal ini, menurut Sodik ada beberapa solusi yang dapat ditempuh antara lain mencari lokasi baru untuk TPA, pengelolaan sampah di tingkat desa, dan pengelolaan sampah berbasis teknologi.

“Setiap tahunnya pasti ada peningkatan seiring dengan bertambahnya jumlah penduduk. Di sini DLH tidak bisa bekerja sendiri peran masyarakat sangat dibutuhkan. Maka dalam program ke depan ada wacana pengelolaan sampah oleh pemerintah desa, akan dibuatkan TPST (Tempat Pembuangan Sampah Terpadu) di setiap desa, dan baru sisanya kita yang mengelola, “ujarnya.

Menurut Sodik, terkait pengelolaan sampah berbasis teknologi DLH terkendala persoalan besarnya investasi.

“Beberapa contohnya seperti insinerator yakni, melalui pembakaran yang menghasilkan gas esmisi ramah lingkungan, setahu kami yang sudah menerapkan itu Surabaya dengan teknologi dari Korea, ” pungkasnya.
